Refereeing bids is a task that is distributed among most experienced players. It is important to give balanced judgments, to compensate player’s efforts.
There are some criteria that should be followed; first, an exclusion criteria:
No obscenities or insults. The first criteria for the exclusion of a bid from winning is the fact that it contains obscenities or insults,
whether to the brand advertised, the opponents, the referee, the game of whatever. Winning bids automatically become public,
visible to everyone on the web, so this aspect should be given higher priority.
If all bids should be excluded for the reason above, use the “reject all bids” option. Notice that if only one bid is not to be excluded, this does not automatically imply that it wins:
it still must be appropriate for the company involved.
Now criteria for establishing the winner.
Quality of the copy. You should evaluate the originality, effectiveness and customer fit of the copy proposed. Also check that it is not a copy copied from previous real
advertisements for the same company.
Original graphics. If the player went through the hard process of creating original graphic elements, instead of using the defaults provided, this should be taken into account.
Overall design and effect. Finally evaluate the overall effect the bid makes.
Price. Consider also whether the two bids have differences in price.
Please don’t publish (by tweeting, on Facebook etc. ) any detail about the bids you are refereeing. Your identity is unknown to the advertisement companies / players bidding and should remain so.
How do I become a judge? You are assigned as judge on a bid by the game admins, based on your game expericnce and eventually on previous game plays.
How much do I get payed for refereeing? This is proportional to the customer's worth.
